'The Scarab is the primary transport for a group of mercenaries set in a primitive sci-fi universe. They travel from planet to planet smuggling illegal goods and taking on any contract, for the right price. Their ship may be made from old repurposed scavenged parts, but its robust shell can withstand almost anything thrown its way'
The ships design was originally taken from the style of a scarab beetle and inspired by games and movies such as Halo, Elite Dangerous, Star Wars and Dead Space. The aim of the project was to test my abilities in creating a game ready asset/environment with correct scaling and collisions for use in a video game and a cinematic. I learnt a lot during this project and mostly enjoyed learning about baking within Substance Painter as it allowed me to keep the ship low poly.
